We were pleased to receive a referral from a satisfied customer who expressed to her mother that Kennedy Painting was the go-to company for her exterior painting project. Our excitement peaked as this referral led us to the beautiful Lafayette Square area in St. Louis, Missouri. Lafayette Square is known for its rather large historic homes, intricate details, and unique color schemes.
Our estimator visited with the homeowner and prepared a detailed proposal outlining the scope of work. The project included repainting all previously painted areas. Everything from dormers to basement window frames was considered during the in-person consultation. Since these homes are often tall and located close to one another, we knew that access would need careful consideration. After evaluating the exterior perimeter, we knew that 40-foot ladders and a lift would be essential to access certain areas of this 3-story home safely.
Before we got started on the actual exterior painting we needed to prep the surfaces to ensure the longevity of the millwork and custom details that this home possesses. All areas were scraped and lightly sanded and any gaps were caulked. In some spots, the window glazing compound was chipping and falling out – our team was asked to remove the failing compound and reglaze using our proven exterior reglazing techniques.
After the preparation, our professional exterior painters applied two coats of Sherwin Williams Duration Home to all surfaces outlined in the detailed contract. This included the cornice, dormers, window trim, and doors with transom. The accent trim was painted in a rich gold color, creating a stunning visual impact that was truly captivating. Along with the gold, there were two shades of green applied— Benjamin Moore Dakota Shadow and Ben Moore Sage Mountain.
At Kennedy Painting, we take pride in our meticulous approach to exterior painting, ensuring not only the beauty of the finished project but also the longevity of our work in the ever-charming Lafayette Square, Missouri neighborhood.
