Crew Leader

Dustin Warren’s journey at Kennedy Painting is a strong example of what long-term growth, commitment, and initiative can achieve.

Dustin joined the Kennedy Painting team in 2017 as an apprentice, entering the trade with limited prior experience but a strong drive to learn. From the start, he asked questions, sought guidance from experienced teammates, and fully embraced every training opportunity available. Beyond formal training, Dustin consistently went above and beyond, continuing to educate himself on his own time through additional resources and hands-on practice to sharpen his skills.

As Dustin puts it,

“I asked a lot of questions, used every resource I could find, and made a point to listen to the people around me who had more experience than I did.”

Through years of hard work, consistency, and a willingness to learn from challenges along the way, Dustin steadily advanced within the company. Today, he serves as Kennedy Painting’s Carpentry Crew Leader, where he oversees carpentry projects from start to finish. In this role, Dustin is responsible for quality workmanship, jobsite organization, and clear communication, helping ensure each project meets Kennedy Painting’s high standards.

“Kennedy has strong systems in place, and once I committed to following them, everything started to click. You learn a lot by doing the work, and sometimes by learning from what didn’t go perfectly.”

Dustin is known for being highly skilled, driven, and dependable. He brings a problem-solving mindset to every project and holds himself and his crew to high expectations. His leadership reflects not only technical expertise but also patience, accountability, and a genuine commitment to doing the job right.
Those who work alongside Dustin consistently recognize him as a leader who leads by example. As a veteran team member, he has shown significant growth in leadership and mentorship, setting clear quality standards, providing retraining when necessary, and supporting his crew with a strong balance of carpentry and painting skills.

Peers described Dustin as the “clearest winner” of the GRIT Award, citing his consistency, work ethic, and reliability. With his long tenure, strong reputation, and the respect he has earned from both peers and supervisors, Dustin is widely recognized as someone who truly embodies leadership and craftsmanship.

Dustin’s growth did not happen overnight. It is the result of years of dedication, ongoing training, and a constant desire to improve.

“Progress takes time. You have to be patient, stay consistent, and be willing to put in the work even when it’s challenging.”

He is also passionate about encouraging others who are early in their careers.

“No goal is outside your reach. I never imagined I’d be where I am today, but if you work hard, stay dedicated, and speak up about what you want to achieve, it pays off. If you have a goal here, people want to help you get there.”

Dustin was named the recipient of Kennedy Painting’s GRIT Award, a recognition created to honor team members who consistently demonstrate Growth, Resilience, Integrity, and Teamwork in their everyday work. The GRIT Awards are especially meaningful because recipients are nominated and voted on by their peers, making the recognition a true reflection of the respect and trust earned within the team.
