Door Refinishing Project Process
This front door refinishing project was in Glendale and it took about two days from start to finish. The front doors were faded and damaged from the weather and had little to no maintenance for approximately 7 years. Our door rejuvenating process involved:
- Sanding down failing coatings
- Thoroughly cleaning the doors to remove any chalky residue, pollen, dust, etc.
- Applying Old Master’s Cedar Gel Stain to blend and enrich the original color
- Applying 2 coats of Minwax SPAR semi-gloss polyurethane to seal the surface.

Note: Weather stripping is removed during this process to allow doors to be shut and locked at night or when no one is present. However, this is not an option for older doors that do not have removable nylon weather stripping, but additional planning can be done to accommodate older doors.
