As you may know, each year we give back to the community in a big way through our Paint It Forward charity painting event. It’s a highlight of the year for us, allowing our team to connect with people and organizations that are doing wonderful work here in St. Louis. Our practical painting skills and capabilities can meet a tangible need, encouraging them and alleviating maintenance burdens.
This year we have the absolute privilege of painting the South County Foster Closet.
South County Foster Closet: Meeting a Critical Need for Foster Families

Laura Storm started South County Foster Closet as a way to meet a huge local need, and also teach her kids to be better people in a practical way.
In the fostering world, children are often placed in a home on very short notice, and sometimes with little more than the clothes on their backs. Storm’s grassroot initiative was to collect donated clothing and shoes that could be given to foster families for free.
The idea took off, resulting in a glorious landslide of donated items.
One year later, that landslide outgrew Storm’s basement, making a larger facility a wonderful necessity. This would be a place where foster families could easily browse the available items, and take what they needed at no charge.
How Is Kennedy Painting Helping?

As they settle into their new facility, South County Foster Closet needs help with painting and prepping walls and floors. It has been our pleasure to donate time, labor, and materials, making sure the new space is looking its best.
And, they’re excited for the transformation! In a recent social media post, they said:
“We are honored to have been chosen for their “Paint it Forward” program, which supports local charities and families in need. We are overwhelmed by their generosity — all of the labor and paint is being 100% donated by Kennedy Painting! This local small business is another example of how everyone can support kids in foster care!”
