- Spring is the most comfortable time to do outdoor painting. Additionally, exterior latex paint forms the most durable, protective finish in mild weather, so your paint job will last the longest if you paint in Spring.
- You will save a lot of work for yourself if you paint before you begin planting and laying down mulch. Anything you plant around your home will get trampled in the painting process.
- Spring only gets busier the closer it gets to summertime, so it’s best to get exterior painting done before barbecues, graduation parties, and other gatherings begin.
- If your house paint is already near the end of its life expectancy, you’re taking a chance by postponing repainting. It doesn’t take long for exposed wood to begin to rot, and other types of exterior materials suffer when the paint wears off. By waiting longer, you may be making more work for yourself.
Once you’ve finished your exterior painting, you can turn your attention to the other things on your to-do list; you’ll feel better knowing that you’ve finished the biggest part of restoring the appearance of your home’s exterior.
